Our hand picked pieces of walling stone, also known as Random Yorkstone Walling, as it comes in random shapes and sizes, is sourced direct from our quarry and delivered to you so that you can create a unique and charasmatic wall. Traditionally used for dry stone walling but now as modern uses include building more structured features, such as garden walls, fireplaces, porches, whilst still retaining the rustic charm that random yorkstone walling provides.

Our beautiful hand dressed Yorkstone walling is expertly prepared and dressed using newly quarried Yorsktone and traditional masonry methods.
This labour and time intensive Yorkstone Walling is hand dressed in our quarry by our expert stone masons to create a product which has a high quality look and feel and creates a superior finish. With a sawn top and bottom it is easily laid and perfect for both novice and professional builders.
Extremely versatile our Hand Dressed Yorkstone Walling can be used to build a feature garden wall or to build a house. Whilst it is a time and labour intensive project the results are simply outstanding given the superior finish that it provides.

Description
Our new Riven Yorkstone Paving comes direct from our very own quarry to you. SYS Ltd are situated on the Yorkshire / Lancashire border and are one of the few yorkstone quarries still open & operating.
Each paving stone is made by hand by one of our highly skilled stone masons. To create our new Riven Yorkstone Paving our stonemasons use a century old technique. They start by gathering large pieces of yorkstone block from the ground using heavy machinery and then hand split these down their natural beds to reveal their riven face. Using this technique means that the thickness of the paving stones does vary from piece to piece but as a guide they are approximately between 30mm – 70mm in thickness.

Description
Six sided sawn paving is a smooth alternative to our new riven paving. Formed millions of years ago sandstone is a sedimentary rock made up of sand sized minerals or rock grains that have been compressed over these years to produce this dense, hard wearing natural stone. Yorkstone is one of the variations of sandstone and is named such due to the location in England that it is found.
This particular paving is highly sough after and is known to the trade as six sided sawn paving. This name comes from the way the paving is finished – it is machine cut on all six sides, (both faces and the four edges), from a solid piece of natural stone block to create a smooth and uniformed finish.
Our sawn sandstone paving is mostly sourced as outdoor paving, for its smooth finish, and driveways due to its durability. However, it is ideal for use both indoors and outdoors, including use around swimming pools, to create patios or enhance garden features and it can even be used as beautiful yet hard wearing window sills or as part of a feature fireplace. We have noticed a increased use of our six sided sawn paving as steps and risers, teamed with a bullnosed edge they are simply beautiful.
